Located on the Muttrah Corniche between the main entrance to the Muttrah Souq and the it's impressive fort the Kurkum is an exclusive, modern, fine dining boutique Indian restaurant. Kurkum is a compact restaurant with tables outside for our guests to enjoy the cool weather during winter or at any time of day. The restaurant has a clean white theme with a delightful view of the Sultan Qaboos Port through the table windows.

Kurkum has an extensive home-made menu for both dinner and lunch-time diners with soups, salads, Indian starters with a variety of chicken, lamb, fish and vegetarian main course dishes served with rice and different types of bread. There is also a Chinese menu and for those with a sweet tooth there are cakes, tarts and ice cream.

With complementary welcome drink and tasty amuse bouche you are always welcome in the Kurkum. Kurkum Restaurant offers the finest modern Indian cuisine (with special Chinese menu), with subtle variations, all freshly prepared on the premises.

We had an amazing lunch experience at Kurkum Restaurant. The pure white ambience is just mesmerizing to your eyes. The food we ordered were very well presented and the portions were good enough to share.

The Chicken Biryani was very tasty and the Gulam Jamun was soo fresh. We were also delighted to have some complimentary tastings of the Omani Halwa Tart. The kids were also happy as they received free chocolates, tiny dolls and cars. I completely recommend this restaurant.

My friend and I ate dinner here after a shopping trip at the nearby Souk. The staff was very attentive and answered all of our questions. The food was delicious. I had butter chicken which was made to perfection. My friend had broccoli curry and chicken tawouk. The curry was so good that I ate at least half of it. We also had paratha bread that was just what was needed to go with sauces. For dessert we shared the Marco Polo Chocolate Cake. It was so good, warm and crunchy outside like the best brownie ever. The friendly staff made us feel right at home.

We just had dinner there. Lovely and welcoming place. We had pander as starter and chicken dakash as main. Everything was delicious, cooked to perfection the chicken melted in.our mouth. The service was very kind and attentive without being intrusive. Excellent!

Popped in for dinner. Very understated but absolutely charming restaurant.

Food was excellent. Service was first class with lots of nice touches from the extra little appetiser to the aromatic hand wash and the toys they gave us at the end - we passed them on to some local children.

Lovely spot in the harbour - highly recommend a visit - quite pricey but this is Oman - we could have actually ordered just one main course between 2 which would have been plenty.

I don't know how many times I have walked past this restaurant and did not know it existed. It is super clean and inviting inside. Beautiful view of the harbor. The meal was outstanding, super fresh and my coconut fish curry was done perfectly and the lamb in the vindaloo fell apart. Nice touches like a glass of cold rose water and a small free delicious bite of something yummy to begin the meal. Service is excellent. The only downside is the cost, it is expensive but worth it for a special treat. Too bad they aren't licensed, the only thing that would of made the meal better was a glass of rose!
