We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Financial Control Manager. The role holder will be primarily based in the CAO function but will also be expected to support the Business Finance area. This is a high dynamic role with a flexibility to gain exposure to all the sub-functions within HSBC Oman Finance team.
Develop and implement financial control standards for the bank in line with the Group guidance and the regulatory requirements.
Provision of financial control guidance and support, ensuring that the operational risk requirements are implemented, monitored and maintained.
Acts as a subject matter expertise in relation to complex issues related to accounting, implementation of new standards and changes in the regulatory requirements.
Prepare, interpret and communicate financial data, and be proficient in analysing the economic environment, competitors and operational effectiveness in order to assist the business to achieve growth and profitability targets.
Act as back up to the Chief Accounting Officer and/or the Head of Business Finance.
Qualified accountants with work experience in Audit or Finance.
Possess a good understanding of Finance control activities and Operational Risk Management Framework.
Excellent business writing skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal confidently with staff at senior levels.
Able to cope with pressure and tight deadlines.
Sound commitment to continuous improvement, self motivated, confident, and capable of working effectively autonomously as well as part of a team.
Strong commercial understanding with an ability to identify key business drivers and to assess how these influence results.
Strong technical and analytical ability.
Excellent presentation and analytical skill set with a commercial mindset and customer focused.
Ability to prioritise and solve complex problems.
