The Royal Oman Police has stated that expatriates who are staying outside for more than 180 days should get a new work visa if their residence permit has expired and they wish to come back.
According to Times of Oman, Major Mohammed Al Hashami of Royal Oman Police has stated that since air traffic has returned to what it is and decisions issued by the Supreme Committee, the facilities instituted to help with Covid19 struck economy have been stopped and the situation has returned to the same as before. The Police has hence issued a circular for expatriates whose residency had expired while they were abroad to request their employers to issue a new work visa so that they could return to Oman.
