New homeowners who wish to connect water services to their homes will have to pay at least OMR 700.
This was revealed by the Public Authority for Water (Diam) who has issued a law which regulates drinking water services in Oman.
According to the regulation, the said fee is for connecting drinking water services to residential lands with an area of less than 2,000 square meters and will increase depending on the size of the land.
Diam said that the fee only applies to new homes and does not include homes that already receive drinking water services.
