Oman's Public Prosecution in 2020 registered 4947 cases of cheques being 'bounced' due to lack of funds, said the Assistant Attorney General, Dr. Ahmed Said al-Shukaili.
Mr. Al Shukaili, who is also the official spokesman of the Public Prosecution Department, said that aftrt bounce cheques, Labour Law violation crimes came second with 2,753 cases, followed by expat Residency crimes with 2,584 cases, IT crimes with 2,292 cases, rape with 104 cases, use of narcotics and psychotropic substances with 1,962 cases and begging with 324 cases.
