US says al-Qaeda has a 'new home base' in Iran

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Tuesday said that al-Qaeda has established a "new home base" in Iran. Pompeo cited the killing of Abu Muhammad al-Masri, al-Qaeda's second-in-command, in Iran in August last year as an example of the terror organisation's presence in the country. Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif called Pompeo's claims "warmongering lies".
